Dalai Lama is the current spiritual leader of the Tibet people. 14th Dalai Lama is the longest lived incumbent who has been the spirityal leader since the 17th of November 1950
Dalai Lama was born on the 6th of July 1935 in a small village called Taktser, which was located in the province of Amdo. At Dali Lama birth his parents originally named him Lhamo Thondup, which translated to ‘Wish Fulfilling Goddess’. Dalai Lama was then brought up on their family farm, which mainly grew barley, buckwheat & potatoes.
Dalai Lama early years where shaped by his mother, father and his six siblings. Dalai Lama described his father as having a quick temper but was very kind man who never bore grudges. Dalai Lama remembered his mother as ‘undoubtedly one of the kindest people’ he has ever known. His mother also conceived a total of sixteen children, by sadly only seven survived. Dalai Lamas eldest sister Tsering Dolma, his eldest brother Thubten Jigme Norbu, middle brother Taktser Rinpoche and his youngest brother Tenzin Choegyal.
However at a young age when Lhamo Thondup was recognized as the new Dalai Lama he was taken to he monastery to live. Dalai Lama re called it as a ‘unhappy period of my life’ as he struggled with the separation form his family but he had his eldest brother already at the monastery and found friendship in his teacher a old kind monk.
At the age of 5 Dalai Lamawas taken to Potala Palace where he met his spiritual leader of Tibet. Dalai Lama was know to keep his hair always shave and wear maroon monk's robes. Lhamo Thondup was then given a new name Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso.
At the young age of fifteen on 17 November 1950, Dalai Lama was officially enthroned as the temporal leader of Tibet in a ceremony held at the Norbulingka Palace. Dalai Lama was now the leader of six million people.
The Dalai Lamas are believed by the Tibetan Buddhist to be the Bodhisattva of compassion and the patron saints of Tibet. These Bodhisattva are to be enlighten being who postponed their own life in order to serve humanity. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people of China. Helping the 80,000 Tibetan people set up a government in exile, Dharamshala, India.
Dalai Lama helped many people so they did not have to live their life being ruled by the governmental and have to live the unfair lifestyle the government would set for Dalai Lama people. Dalai Lama then uses his religious power and beliefs to give these people of Tibet when they were sent to exile in Dharamshala by the Government.
The consequences Dalai Lama has had on the world is he has taught many to be compassionate and show hope. Dalai Lama has said "because of the lessons we have learnt, the next century will be friendlier, more harmonious and less harmful. Compassion, the seed of peace, have been planted and will be able to flourish." Dalai Lama does still believe there are big problems the world will need to face together, these include overpopulation, dwindling natural resources and environmental crisis that threaten our air, water and trees.

Dalai Lama is an real inspiration to all people even if they do not follow the Buddhist faith, he showed all that in certain situations you have to do something you discourage but at the same time you have to do whats best for others, whilst trying to keep peace.
